ABOUT THE SERVICE

LähelläPRO.fi provides notices, announcements, events, and training opportunities aimed at associations. Information is published by associations, municipalities, and wellbeing services counties.

Lähellä.fi is an easy-to-use online service operating nationally and regionally, where you can share activities, community initiatives, support, and participation opportunities that matter to citizens. The service brings together support, activities, and events from organizations and communities in one place, while promoting the visibility of civic engagement across Finland.

The design, implementation, and marketing of the online service are managed by the Lähellä network (formerly the Toimeksi.fi network), which has been operating since 2013. Together, we have built you a new nationally and regionally operating online service, based on our old regional services. Lähellä.fi operates both as an independent online service and as a source of organisational information for platforms such as the Suomi.fi Finnish Service Catalogue (FSC) and various different event calendars. The Lähellä network is coordinated by the The Social Welfare and Health Security Association of Lapland. The development of the online service and the coordination of the network are funded by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health.

Lähellä.fi is designed for showcasing and announcing non-profit activities that serve the public interest. Associations, alliances, NGOs, and active citizens can register in the service, as well as municipalities, parishes, and wellbeing services counties.

The images of the Lähellä.fi online service are created in collaboration with the network's regional actors and Finland Image Bank.
